Our Leadership
Calvary Chapel is an elder-led church made up of men whom the Lord has chosen and ordained for the sole purpose of leading and serving Calvary Chapel Newark.
Biblical Qualifications for our Elders
Titus 1:5-9
5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you— 6 if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. 7 For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

Aaron and his family spent the last 10 years serving as a missionary in Germany. He worked primarily among Middle Eastern refugees and as a youth pastor. Aaron's heart is for the disenfranchised, to seek and save the lost.

Jesus was FULL of GRACE and TRUTH
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, . . . full of grace and truth… For from his fullness we have all received, GRACE UPON GRACE For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."
John 1:14,16-17
Therefore, our vision is to be Filled with this Grace and Truth of Jesus.
Filled - “I have come so that you might have life and life in abundance”
- Jesus did not come to give us a boring religion, he came to give us abundant life. He sent the Holy Spirit to flood our lives with Love, Joy, Peace and every other good thing.
- We believe that if Christianity seems boring, you’re probably not doing it right. A true Christian is marked by a life filled with goodness.
Grace - “He who did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things.“
- Grace is the product of a generous spirit. Grace gives, grace forgives, grace makes room mistakes because no one ever got it right the first time.
- Grace is an unearned outpouring of love into the lives of those around us.
Truth - “you will know the truth and the truth will set you free”
- Through grace we are saved, but through truth we are set free. Truth instructs and matures us into our fullest selves.
- Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and Life, Therefore we teach candidly verse by verse through the Bible so that we can understand who Jesus truly is, so that we can become like him.
